Two Million-Mile Baby
Now she’s being wowed by another muscular performance: the BMW Hydrogen 7.
Hilary Swank is the latest luminary to be named an EfficientDynamics Pioneer and given the keys to one of BMW’s fleet of Hydrogen 7 Sedans. This luxury-performance vehicle melds hydrogen technology with BMW’s famous driving dynamics, refinement and comfort.
After driving the first few miles, she will have turned the fleet’s collective odometer past the two-million-mile mark – adding her driving joy to that of previous EfficientDynamics Pioneers Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Will Ferrell, Jay Leno, Edward Norton, Melissa Etheridge, Cameron Diaz and all the others who have chosen the BMW Hydrogen 7 as their energy-efficient ride of choice.
Swank first encountered the BMW Hydrogen 7 in early 2008 while attending the Charity Gala Cinema for Peace in Berlin. “Having experienced the ‘clean driving pleasure’ of the BMW Hydrogen 7 in February, I feel very honored being able to drive this forward-looking vehicle for a longer period of time,” she revealed.
“For me, the car is the result of responsible research and development. What I’m hoping to do is get people inspired to be open to alternative energy technologies that bring relief to our environment.” Hilary Swank’s career spans nearly two decades; during that time she has received a Screen Actors Guild Award and two Golden Globe Awards for “Best Actress.”
In addition to her work on-screen, Swank is devoted to giving back to the community. Last year she was presented with the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s 2008 Courage Award, in recognition of her efforts on behalf of the EIF’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund. Look for the EfficientDynamics Pioneers program to continue in 2009, demonstrating BMW’s ongoing commitment to CleanEnergy driving.
